Arnaldo Pomodoro, Novecento sculpture
This large-scale sculpture takes the form of a growing, embracing spiral, ever more narrow, that communicates a feeling of continuous progress, as a combination of equality and elevation.
Arnaldo Pomodoro was born in Morciano, Romagna, Italy in 1926. He currently lives and works in Milan. Pomodoro founded Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro in Milan in 1999. His brother, Giò Pomodoro (1930–2002) was also a sculptor. Arnaldo Pomodoro's work can be found in important museum around the world, for example the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington and the de Young Museum in San Francisco.
